if you're wanting to do everything in one place (i.e the ceremony, reception, etc), then I would recommend allowing the venue to do the catering for you. They are experts in doing them and can probably provide you a cheaper price since you're using their facilities. Also, there is a peace of mind in knowing that everything is on site.

As far as the decor... DON'T USE THE VENUE'S SUPPLIES. Here's why I'm so passionate about it. Your wedding is the chance for you to not only share your love with those that are close to you, but it's also a chance, probably one of the only chances you'll get, to make the wedding completely personal and completely about you and your fiance. When you use the decor that a venue has, it's typically things that have been seen in each wedding they host. Either its not pretty because it's been used so much, or it's just plain boring. Think about it, would you rather have a wedding that looks like every other wedding you've been to? or would you rather create an experience that's unique and really showcases who you and your fiance are about. This is your chance...

I would check out the Double Tree hotel. It's nice, reasonably priced, and they can provide everything for you. As far as losing your deposit, like the person above said, marry someone quality Otherwise, you really can't get your money back when it's a deposit. That's what they are for. So make sure you are sure about your location before you sign the contract and put down a deposit.
