What can i do to solve my Inventory problem?

Dear sir / Madam, I have been working in a hotel. My problem is that i have some linen like Napkins, Table cloth and Towels etc. I have make a requation form and i issued all desired items on that person on request. But after use that items i have not found in same quantity back. i have received back about 50 to 100 pcs less and there are 10 outlets for our linen usage. if i go for count the rest linen i need about 1 Hr and 30 Min. to go and count at 10 outlets. so i canot do this. when the boys come back with Dirty linen that was less than issued linen if i asked the person he says that he dont know and there is no linen at there outlet. And if i show the inventory to my Dept. Head that will be a great problem because we dont afford to lost abot 100 items daily. if i make any requation then what is format of that or plz suggest any other solution. Please suggest me what can i do to solve my problem.

So where is the linen going? Either the employees are taking it, or the customers are, or the employees or customers are throwing the linens away.

I think the only way to resolve this is to establish a standard issue of linen per occupant or per room: 2 towels, 2 hand towels, and 4 napkins, or something like that. Post this as a neatly typewritten note on the back of the linen cupboard in each room.

Then each time a room is cleaned, the cleaner must return each of these linens. If the linens are missing from the room, the customer will get a bill for replacing the linens. Post this on the note too - that way, if there are not the correct linens in the room, the customer can call first to ask for more.

Also track which rooms come up short and if customers start complaining about the bills and are adamant that they never took the linens, then you should look carefully at your staff. Watch for the staff members who seem to blame the most losses on the customers.

Warn the staff about the new system ahead of time, and spot check them and the rooms frequently to make sure each room is getting the proper linen count, and to make sure the staff are returning the proper amounts.

Good luck. It will stop if people - either the staff or the customers - discover that they have to pay with their money or their jobs!
