Why Nursing Lingerie Should Be On Your Checklist For Pregnancy & Beyond

It is a common complaint by pregnant and nursing women. "Nursing lingerie is boring!" And why would you want to spend money on something that incites such a response when you could spend it on the endless array of gorgeous items vital to the arrival and well being of your baby?

It's all very well to check prams, bassinets, baby toys, sterilisers, lace-trimmed linen, all-in-ones, nursery mobiles and so forth off your ever growing list – the choice is phenomenal and it's easy to get caught up in it. Believe me, as a mother of three young girls and the owner of an internationally renowned nursing lingerie company, I recall this frenzied state well! However, the day will come when you realise that you are constantly readjusting your bra straps, you're huffing and puffing and your lingerie feels tight. There is no need to select maternity lingerie with underwire as during pregnancy and breastfeeding, underwire can block milk ducts and put pressure on tender tissue and lead to infections such as mastitis. Shoulder straps should be wider if you have a heavier bust and also be cotton lined for comfort. Choose nursing lingerie - both bras and nightwear – with one-handed maternity clips for fuss free feeds but above all make sure it's gorgeous and makes you feel that way too!
