Registered at Linens and Things?? Are they closing??

I have registered at Linens and Things in Canada and got an email saying basically that they are in financial difficulty but will be remaining open and it will not affect our registry. I guess this was sent to reassure me but had the opposite affect. I registered with them as they have many products I love and at least our guests can use the 20% off coupons that come in the mail often to save a bit of money. Have any stores closed near you? I heard they were in trouble in the USA but were doing well in Canada? I just don't want our guests to buy gift certificates (as many people I know like to do for weddings) and then the store closes and their money is wasted. Should I cancel and then register at Home Outfitters maybe? We also registered at Sears as neither store had all we wanted at one spot. Thank you all!

The Linens and Things by my house is not closing (so far) but I did see one in another town closing. If you want to be safe, you could leave your registry open with them, and register at another place as well. It is not bad to be registered at more than one place. I am registered at two places. I think the only thing that would concern me is if they do go out of business, how I would return things if I somehow got multiples of an item on my registry. Good luck!
