Men's Linen Shirt

Linen is one of the oldest textile in the world history and is of about thousand year back. It is made from the fibers of the flax plant which is best valued for its freshness and coolness. Linen literally was also used to mean light weight undergarments such as shirt , collars, cuffs etc.

Linen shirt is among one of the best product made from the linen textile which is going to be discussed about in this article. The shirts made from the linen textile are 2-3 times strengthen than the shirts made by the cotton textiles. Some of the advantages of the linen textiles shirts are:-

v Linen shirts are good absorbant and is a good conductors of heat which feels cool to touch:- The fibers used in the linen shirts is are produced by flax plant which contains the fibers nodes which could absorb the water very easily. These fibers could absorb 20% moistures without feeling damp and hence it ats as a good absorbant, and also a good conductuors of heat.

v It is one of the best summer wear shirts than the shirt produced by the other textiles:- Linen shirts shirts fibers because of its good conductivity of heat does not absorb heat falling on it and gives a feeling a coolness and hence is best as the summer wear shirts.

v Linen shirts are best for the skin:-Because , linen shirts are made from the highly absorbant fibers it absorbs the perspiration from the skin and does not cling to the skin.When it drys out it becomes cool and keeps skin in contact with a cool surface.

v Decorative and fine textured shirts:-The cros section of the linen is made up of the irregular polygon shapes which contribute to the coarse textures.

v Easy to take care of:- Fibers used for producing linen shirts restricts dirts and stains. And can be drycleaned machine washed or steamed.

v Can withstand high temperatures:-Linen shirts can withstand high temperatures so it is more safe to be ironed.

Linen shirts are produced in different parts of the world ,but the best quality of the flax fiberes are harvested in the western part of Europe.

China is also one of the recent producers of the linen product and Ireland ,Italy and Belgium is also well known producers of the shirts. The linen shirts are commonly weared by the jewish religion,Maimonides according to their faith and believe.

PRODUCTION METHOD

Linen shirts are produced by the flax fibers. These flax fibers are harvested through different harvesting techniques. The flax plants are first harvested with the hand by cutting the complete plant by near about its root and then the seeds are removed. After this the process of rating Is performed which takes place in the tanks and pool. Further the method of scutching and heckeling is performed in order to obtain the fibers and thus the fiber is obtained and is used to produce linen shirts.

Some of the disadvantages of the linen shirts or say some of the care that should be taken in care of producing linen shirts are:

v Linen shirts should not be dried too much by tumble drying

v Linen wrinkles very easily and should be oftened iron.

v The linen shirts are of very low elasticity hence it should not be folded or ironed at the same place as it would eventually break up.

Although linen shirt have some disadvantages which could be taken care of , it has lots and lots of advantages in it wich suits our requirements as the best summer clothes. If mixed with some wollen it could also be used as a winter clothe too.
