bags by edwards? (vintage)?

i bought a bag today and inside on the blue linen is a gold like crest/imprint of a crown and the words "bags by edwards" USA and then the patent number of the bag, can anyone tell me anything about the company? like production dates? anyone who can tell me or find me a site that tells me then u get 10 points thank you

Hi the most that i could find out was that they made bags as far back as the 40s...beyond that i could only find people selling. Judging by the sellers descritions its not a label of any note or particular value im afraid. I deal in vintage handbags (as well as other vintage) and sometimes the labels look so posh that its hard to believe its not worth a tidy sum
